Overview
This series of courseware covers techniques for mixing, routing, and monitoring through a C|24, D-Control, or D-Command control surface (separate courses are available for each control surface). Access to certification exams require that previous exams have been passed.
Prerequisites
- Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools
- Pro Tools 110: Essentials of Pro Tools
- Pro Tools 201: Pro Tools Production Essentials
Objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Configure the control surface track display controls and dedicated controls for Pro Tools functions
- Describe track elements and controls, PRE and the control surface
- Use displays/scribble strips, encoders, pans, sends, and inserts
- Control plug-ins by viewing editing, and mapping
- Enable automation modes and write automation with the control surface
- Perform advanced operations and editing, including creating and adjusting selections with the control surface and using edit functions and soft keys
- Group tracks and use VCA control and Master Track attributes
- Use Custom Faders (D-Command and D-Control only) through Custom Fader Groups, Mix/Edit Groups, and Master (Tracks) modes
- Implement advanced automation techniques including Preview and Capture modes
- Use monitor controls, including inputs and outputs, cue section, monitor control switches and indicators, and talkback section
