The Bourne Ultimatum
With multiple System 5 consoles in its facility, the team at Todd-AO captured Oscar gold for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing.
Avid congratulates Todd-AO Re-Recording mixers Scott Millan and David Parker who earned the Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing during last night's gala ceremony. The winning pair will share the award with Production Mixer Kirk Francis.
This is the fourth Oscar® for Millan who previously won for Ray, Gladiator and Apollo 13 and has been nominated on three other occasions. For Parker, it is his second Oscar®. He previously won for The English Patient and has two other nominations.
Todd-AO West has 5 System 5 consoles and during the re-recording process several of the rooms were brought into the action, including Stage 3 which was used by Shawn Murphy for mixing the 96kHz score.
To date, Sound Mixing Teams working on a System 5 digital audio mixing console have won or been nominated for a Sound Mixing Oscar® every year since 2001. Even more notable is that Sound Mixing Teams working on System 5 have won Sound Mixing Oscars® five out of the last seven years.
