Louis Hernandez, Jr., is President and Chief Executive Officer of Avid, the leading provider of audio and video technology used to help creative and media professionals make, distribute and monetize the most listened to, most watched and most loved digital media in the world. Headquartered in Burlington, MA with over 1,500 employees worldwide, Avid’s proven and trusted solutions have won hundreds of industry and technology awards, including two Oscars® a Grammy®, and 14 Emmys®. Built upon a 25-year heritage of innovation, and holding over 200 patents, Avid provides open, flexible, and scalable products and solutions to the world’s preeminent community of media enterprises and content creators.
Mr. Hernandez is a proven growth-oriented technology executive with expertise in operational execution and results-driven performance in a variety of complex technical fields including content management, e-commerce, workflow management and financial services. His focus and passion is to advance technology initiatives that specifically enable the active collaboration and connection between individuals, teams, and businesses. Before becoming CEO, he served for five years on Avid’s Board of Directors, including a period as lead Director. Appointed CEO in February 2013, Mr. Hernandez is now leading the company into its next phase of growth and market leadership. To that end, Mr. Hernandez oversees Avid’s strategic investments in product innovation, solutions, and services that help content creators and media organizations better connect with and inspire their audiences, both now and in the future.
Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Hernandez was the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Open Solutions Inc., a technology provider to financial institutions worldwide, which was sold in January 2013 to Fiserv, Inc for over $1 billion. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for HSBC North America Holdings, Inc., HSBC USA Inc., and ScoreBig, Inc., and is an award winning entrepreneur who has founded and advised technology organizations ranging from start-ups to large publicly traded companies.
Mr. Hernandez is the author of two books, Saving the American Dream—Main Street’s Last Stand, and Too Small to Fail, numerous articles, and has received many professional distinctions for his expertise in business and technology. He has also been a featured guest on Fox Business, CNBC, ABC News, and Bloomberg TV, where he discusses technology, economics, strategic planning and globalization.
Through his private foundation, Mr. Hernandez actively supports children’s issues and advances in healthcare and education. Additionally, he is involved in a diverse range of community issues, including advancing the physical and emotional health of children, and promoting education in science. In particular, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation named Mr. Hernandez a Community Leader of the Year in honor of his many contributions to the community.

As the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Avid, John Frederick oversees Avid's financial and administrative functions, including finance, information technology, legal, human resources, and investor relations.
Mr. Frederick is a seasoned financial executive with experience in strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, process improvement using lean and six sigma techniques and the implementation of financial systems. Before joining Avid as Chief of Staff in February 2013, Mr. Frederick was the Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Open Solutions Inc., a technology provider to financial institutions worldwide, which was acquired in January 2013 by Fiserv, Inc. Prior to Open Solutions, Mr. Frederick was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at SafeNet, Inc.
His extensive background at diverse companies provides versatility as well as exposure to best practices in a variety of industries ranging from high-growth technology to consumer products and entertainment companies. In addition to Open Solutions and SafeNet, these companies included roles at AlliedSignal, now Honeywell, Time Warner – Six Flags, Sunbeam Corporation, Black & Decker, and Legrand North America.
Mr. Frederick earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

As Senior Vice President of Products and Services, Mr. Gahagan leads the company's product development and management, customer support and services, as well as manufacturing and logistics functions.
Prior to joining Avid in July 2009, Mr. Gahagan was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Resource Management Software Group at EMC Corporation, where he and his team were responsible for providing customers with products and services that delivered best-in-class operational efficiency for IT businesses. Chris enjoyed over seven years at EMC. Most recently, Chris drove the formulation and the continued evolution of the Business Unit strategy including product development, strategic partnering and acquisition activities for all M&A phases as well as successful integration into EMC. His extensive background includes deep knowledge of software and product development, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer service.
Before EMC, Mr. Gahagan held positions as Vice President and General Manager of the Enterprise Systems Management Group at BMC and Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Sterling Software, previously Spectra Logic Corporation. Mr. Gahagan began his career as a member of the technical staff at Hewlett-Packard Company.
Mr. Gahagan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences from Colorado State University.

As Vice President of Marketing for Avid, Mr. Ford is responsible for corporate marketing communications, product and segment marketing, field marketing, brand development and thought leadership efforts at the company. His focus is to drive demand generation and build revenue opportunities in support of Avid’s growth and revenue priorities as well as continue to build Avid’s position as the leading digital audio and video technology company in the world. Coming from a family of professional studio musicians, sound engineers, and creatives, he has a long standing passion for the audio and video space.
Mr. Ford joins Avid from Zmags, Inc. a SaaS-based rich media marketing and e-commerce platform for tablets, mobile, social and web channels where he was the CMO and COO. Mr. Ford has held several other senior technology marketing positions in his career including Syncsort, Inc. where he was the CMO, and Oracle Corporation where he was the Vice President of Global Business Unit (GBU) Marketing responsible for all vertical industry applications worldwide.
At the start of his professional career Mr. Ford spent seven years as a senior strategy consultant with Monitor Group, and in 1999 he co-founded Upromise, Inc. which was ultimately sold to Sallie-Mae.
Mr. Ford earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Williams College and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
Jason Duva

As Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Mr. Duva is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs.
Mr. Duva joined Avid in 2005 as Corporate Counsel and since 2008 has served as Assistant General Counsel. Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Duva worked at the Boston firm Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, where he represented numerous hardware, software, and entertainment companies, along with individual artists and arts organizations.
Mr. Duva holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University. Mr. Duva has been a Pro Tools enthusiast since its first release, having discovered it while studying at the university’s McColl Studios for Electronic Music.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Raine is responsible for integrating Avid’s human resources and business strategies to ensure the highest level of operational effectiveness and efficiency within the global human resources function. With extensive international and technology sector experience, his mandate includes global alignment of Avid’s organization structures and direction of human resource programs and policies, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and development.
Mr. Raine came to Avid in April 2008 from EMC Corp. where he held the role of senior director of human resources within the Americas Field Organization. At EMC, he and his team supported 7,500 employees in sales, professional services, and sales operations. Prior to EMC, Mr. Raine held executive and senior management human resource positions at Parametric Technology Corporation, Nortel Networks Corp. and Ryder System, Inc.
Mr. Raine grew up in London, England and then attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he received a degree in Political Science.

Avid firmly believes that the success of our customers will lead to our success as a company. Ms. Sweeney and her team develop and support new service offerings targeted at enabling our customers’ success across all segments and geographies.
Since joining Avid in early 2007, Ms. Sweeney has been instrumental in our transformation and with her team has led our market and customer segmentation efforts. Prior to joining Avid, Ms. Sweeney held leadership roles managing call center, data center and field service organizations.
Ms. Sweeney holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Northeastern University.

As Vice President of Corporate Development, Mr. Lawrence leads collaborative efforts across Avid to identify areas of opportunity that will help drive growth and bring long term success to both Avid and our customers.
Prior to joining Avid in August 2008, Mr. Lawrence was a Managing Director and Co-Founder of McNamee Lawrence and Co., a global investment banking advisory firm focused on serving the needs of innovative, growth-stage technology products and services companies. His extensive background in strategy and financial markets includes senior roles at Oracle where he was a Managing Director of the Oracle Venture Fund and Hambrecht & Quist where he was a Principal and senior member of the M&A group advising clients in key strategic transactions that included acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and raising capital.
Mr. Lawrence began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co. as a financial analyst and member of the Technology M&A group in both New York and Tokyo. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

As Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, Karl Johnsen oversees Avid’s accounting, financial reporting and revenue operations worldwide.
Mr. Johnsen brings several years of finance leadership experience to Avid, including experience working with public and private technology companies. Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Johnsen was the Vice President, Finance, at FusionStorm where he was responsible for all aspects of the finance operations. Mr. Johnsen has held similar positions at several other Boston-based technology companies and spent five years with Big Four CPA firms.
Mr. Johnsen earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley College and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

As Vice President of Supply and Hardware Technologies, Mr. Yaung leads a team focused on hardware development to timely delivery of high-quality products to the marketplace, while minimizing the associated costs. Mr. Yaung comes to Avid with more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain and has extensive experience working with complex products and global operations. Mr. Yaung joins us from Apple where he managed a global team responsible for the manufacture of key Apple products, including the Mac Book product family. Prior to Apple, Mr. Yaung held key leadership positions at Celestica and Sun Microsystems. Mr. Yaung has also spent significant time in Asia.
Mr. Yaung holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.
