Automation designed for one to four channels

FastBreak® 2000 automation manages and controls content in the broadcast master control room. It is a comprehensive solution designed for one to four channels of control that integrates database management with control of video servers, tape transports, switchers, routers, and other common peripherals. Numerous commercial broadcast groups and Public Television stations have relied on Avid  FastBreak automation since its first release in 1995.

Key Benefits

Solid Technology
FastBreak 2000 is engineered with the same List Processor technology as our larger systems.

Easily accommodates a variety of workflows. Certification of new broadcast peripherals is a top priority of Avid FastBreak Automation Solutions.

Media Management
Supporting a variety of ingest methods including dubbing, real-time recording and file-based ingest, FastBreak 2000 intelligently moves media and metadata between storage devices such as video servers and archive systems. FastBreak 2000 ensures that media is available for playback and moves content directly to a broadcast facility’s play-to-air server with a single click.

Maximizing uptime, Avid provides a variety of system redundancy options in addition to standard mirrored hard drives and hot swappable power supplies. For further enhancement, fault-tolerant SQL Data Server and ListSync™ with auto-failover capability can be added.

Since secondary events are a key aspect of broadcasting, Avid’s FlexEvent enables you to respond with anything from a simple GPI logo insertion trigger to a complex sequence of actions involving multiple broadcast devices. The FlexEvent status can be displayed directly in the UI for easy monitoring. Playout is frame accurate. An unlimited number of FlexEvents can be assigned as clip properties, through traffic instructions or to a user control. Billable events are reported in the as-run data.

Dedicated Support
Avid FastBreak Automation Solutions are backed by world-class support personnel who not only fully understand your facility’s workflow, but are always available to provide the troubleshooting, installation and training you need to succeed.
