Get instant access with a touch

Quickly access files, system setup, and program various functions from the high-resolution touchscreen, which sits just above the keyboard. The screen also shows you a permanent display of filenames, transport state, fader labels, and the main menu. You can also customize each section of the surface using the Setup button, which brings up a setup screen for that section of the surface.

The touchscreen includes the following display screens:

• Multiple workstation setup and selection
• File management
• Track selection and management
• Soft Key setup—assign functions and keyboard com¬mands to the SmartSwitches
• System setup and preferences
• Edit Control banks, Soft Key banks, User Sets, and Appli¬cation Sets (can all be named, stored, recalled, renamed, and deleted)

Perform complex functions in a single press

Instantly perform application functions, keystroke shortcuts, and macro commands using the LCD display SmartSwitches that automatically update as you switch between applications. Take a series of repetitive keyboard shortcuts you use for editing and perform them all at once with a single SmartSwitch press. Assign various functions to the wheel on the fly. Effortlessly navigate your application menus and more—all without your hands ever leaving the controller. MC Pro comes equipped with default Application Sets for most DAWs, but you can create your own to speed up any task.

Make changes with a twist

MC Pro includes eight touch-sensitive rotary knobs with LED display rings that function as a SuperChannel, enabling you to control EQ, dynamics, and other DAW plug-ins on the selected channel, with keys to navigate to additional parameters if needed. You also have an additional “Assignable Knob” that automatically picks up the current active control in your application. For example, if you move your cursor over a pan control, the knob will act as a pan control in EUCON-aware applications that support this function. You can also lock this knob to a particular function.

Transport and Wheel Controls

You can use the ten SmartSwitches above the trackball to act as transport controls, with multicolor displays for showing orange, or green when in play, and red when recording, or program these switches to manage any trans¬port or sync function—in any order—to exactly match the transport layout you prefer. You can also choose to permanently display SMPTE or MIDI time code and locate reg¬isters on the touchscreen, and add an optional external synchronizer for multiple machine control. You can even use the SmartSwitches to modify the function of the jog wheel on the fly.
