VENUE Software Features
Every E3 Engine (S3L System), SC48 console, FOH Rack, and Mix Rack comes preinstalled with VENUE software, enabling you to control every aspect of your live sound production. For a complete look at all features available, download the latest user guide for your live sound system.
Get infinite sonic possibilities
VENUE software directly supports the same audio plug-ins used in professional Pro Tools studios, so you can re-create the signature sounds your performers covet. All Avid live sound systems come with a comprehensive plug-in collection, from EQ, reverb, and dynamics processors, to unbelievable emulations of classic outboard gear and guitar amps. Expand your sonic palette with a choice of hundreds more from Avid and other respected names in pro audio.
Unprecedented Pro Tools integration
With all Avid live systems, you can control your live system and Pro Tools* as one with VENUE Link, which uses a standard Ethernet connection, or connect over a LAN for remote applications. (Audio is transferred separately through the Pro Tools or MADI interface card in your live system.) For recording, VENUE Link will automatically create a new Pro Tools session that matches your current VENUE show file, including session name, number of tracks, track names, and all patching, in seconds—with 100% accuracy. And it’ll add markers for any snapshots recalled during the show, making it easy to note song beginnings, endings, and other cues. What's more, if you're using S3L, not only can you mix and record live shows, you can also set up a mobile Pro Tools (or other EUCON-enabled DAW) recording/mixing system everywhere you go using just the S3 surface and your laptop.
Mix faster using the intuitive interface
Get fast access to features and controls on the monitor screen (using a trackball or mouse) and directly from your console. VENUE software features a simple tabbed interface and streamlined pages, enabling you to find and manage all inputs, outputs, files, snapshots, patchbay settings, plug-in settings, and user options, quickly and easily, so you have more time to concentrate on your mix.
Automate Snapshots and Events
With Snapshots, you can store and recall console and plug-in settings instantly, dramatically increasing your mixing efficiency. Set multiple snapshots to handle mixing changes for every song in a set list or to quickly switch settings for different performers or scenes—with up to 999 snapshots at your disposal. And eliminate task tedium by programming frequently performed actions as Events, which can be triggered in a variety of ways.
Gain faster access with VCA and Group Spill
Get quick and easy access to a particular channel within a VCA or group without having to bank through multiple channel layers to reach it. With VCA and Group Spill, you can temporarily bring channels assigned to a VCA or group immediately to the top of the console.
Complete show file compatibility
Because all Avid live sound systems use the same software, you gain reliable file management and compatibility with all systems big and small—no need to rebuild show files. Simply copy show files to a USB storage key and load them onto any other Avid live system. VENUE software adapts the settings as necessary to fit within the available hardware and software feature set of the given VENUE system configuration, from S3L up to D-Show.
Work offline with VENUE Standalone software
While VENUE software requires an Avid live sound system to use, you can pre-program shows or edit show files offline using VENUE Standalone software on any Windows-based computer (including Macs running Boot Camp or emulation software). VENUE Standalone software is a free download and is a great way for new users to get familiar with VENUE operation before laying a finger on the console. Download the latest VENUE Standalone software.
* Requires an Avid live sound system running VENUE 2.9 or higher software; a built-in Pro Tools interface, MADI interface, or HDx or FWx option card; and a qualified Mac- or Windows-based computer running Pro Tools 8.1 or higher software.
