If you purchased or upgraded to Media Composer 6, Symphony 6, or NewsCutter 10 on or between August 8, 2012 and September 30, 2012—and registered your product—you are entitled to a no-charge upgrade to Media Composer 6.5, Symphony 6.5, or NewsCutter 10.5 software.
You can request your complimentary upgrade through this page if you meet the above requirements and you either:
- Register a new license for one of the products above at www.avid.com/register by October 7, 2012
- Or register your upgrade to one of the products above at www.avid.com/upgrade by October 7, 2012

Third-party application activation

For larger interconnected installations, Avid needs to ensure that upgrading a single seat will not impact the total workflow.
Use the Avid License Control utility to find your
System ID and Activation ID
Windows: Start > All Programs > Avid > Utilities > Avid License Control
Mac: Applications/Utilities/Avid Utilities/LicenseControl/Avid License Control
Click the License Profile tab to display your licensing information.
