Avid and the Environment
In January 2003, the European Union adopted two important environmental directives -- the Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). In combination with additional Directives in the EU and other geographies, they represent an important milestone in providing a safer environment for future generations.
Compliance with China Ministry of Information Industry's RoHS Directive
In response to the China Ministry of Information Industry's ("MII"), "Management Methods for Controlling Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products Regulation," better known as "China RoHS," Avid Technology, Inc. ("Avid") has adopted the following compliance protocols:
Compliance with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)
Regulation 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is the new European Union (EU) chemicals law that became effective on June 1, 2007, with phased deadlines through to 2018. Avid supports the overall REACH goals of protecting human health and the environment.
