Interplay | Archive

The optional Interplay | Archive network service provides desktop-based, drag-and-drop archiving and retrieval of clips, sequences, and other media assets. The Interplay database tracks files stored in an external storage library, so team members can look for both archived and online media using a single interface. Interplay | Archive restores requested files to the online system automatically.

  • Folder level archiving
  • Integrated solutions
  • Start small or go big
  • Send a clip to the selected archive destination directly from Interplay tools, or drag-and-drop into an Auto Archive folder.

  • Easily search for a clip in the archive database using the search pane in Avid MediaCentral | UX, or the Interplay | Access search tab.

  • Find the clip you want, and restore only the required segment of an archived master clip with a partial restore operation, saving time and online bandwidth.

  • Menu commands in Media Composer and Avid MediaCentral | UX toolset make it easy to send and retrieve media to and from an archive without interrupting the edit session.

  • Simply drag a clip or sequence to an Auto Archive folder and let Interplay media service options (such as Interplay | Transcode or an AirSpeed video server) generate and store low-res versions of archived media for preview prior to retrieval.

  • Interplay | Archive supports archiving or restoring all of the Avid assets in a given folder in a single operation, greatly simplifying the user effort for these routine tasks.

  • Avid offers fully integrated, tested, and supported Interplay | Archive solutions based on Spectra Logic data tape libraries and SGL archive management software, as well as from other leading archive management software and data tape library partners.

  • With Interplay’s highly scalable archive capacity, you can start with a small high-density solution and scale to hundreds of petabytes of capacity, all managed within the same simple interface.
