after some uninstalls, installs, restarts,... everything works!!! I didn't have much time to test, but I think you have to select your sequence in your bin and then "Output ... XDCAM" is getting available! if you select the timeline window or the record monitor, it won't work. also, I just tested to "output" a SD project...

I'd say your selecting the wrong project type 200/202 hvx don't shoot HDV at all they shoot HD dvc pro...

best way to export to photo?

What is the best export setting to expert an image in a (hdv)sequence to a sharp photo (for ex: jpeg or pict and should it be for ex. single field)?

Do You have Vista SP1 installed? According to Your specs You don't so You do not meet the system requirements: I do not mean to sound bitchy, the reason why I'm pointing this out is because I had this very same problem with Windows XP and it was related to an MS hotfix required by the Digidesign driver not installed.
