    Important, disappearing posts?

As some do know and others may not I thought it would be best to put up a sticky for a while.

Because some of you are not aware of the new moderated forums I thought I should clarify some minor "rules" or guides.
If at one point a post you've made disappears don't assume it's deleted. Chances are it was moved to the new Off-Topic & General Discussion thread.

This thread was created to make sure the forums are kept free of non Avid related issues. The tech/support forums are for problems and specific questions. General discussions will be moved. Double posts are being deleted and wrong forum posts are moved to the relevant forums. This is always followed by a PM (Personal Message) from the mod that moves it. For sale posts are at this point not allowed and will be deleted.

    Example:
    • A thread about a camera with connection problems is in my opinion a relevant thread.
    • A thread about a new camera and what it can do is not... that thread will be moved.

All moderators are looking into posts and move them accordingly however we also make mistakes and therefore do not hesitate to contact either one of us if you strongly disagree with a move. To put it clear... if you disagree with anything we do.. please contact us.. we need your input as well because we're not perfect.

    Thx for the help.

If you start your subject heading with "OT:" does it automatically go to this forum?

    Re: Important, disappearing posts?

No, not automatically, but it would definately get the attention of a moderator who will, most likely, elect to move it. Assuming that if it is marked as OT, it probably is OT.

My post started with "OT:" and was moved before I could even go back to he main forum screen. So I thought maybe it was automatic. But then I found an email from a moderator informing me it had been moved.

Rick do keep discussing moves.. and all users as well. I'm not the biggest fan of the OT although i must admit it keeps the tech forum much cleaner then before. What goes and stays is sometimes very difficult.

I wasn't sure how far OT my topic was but I labeled it as such... it is a question about the bootup process of my editing system computer, so it's not like I was discussing football scores or politics... next time I'm not sure, I won't label it OT if that sends it at lightspeed to the other forum!

    Re: Important, disappearing posts?

If it is not specific to the forum title...i.e. Xpress Pro, Xpress Studio, etc., it is probably best suited for OT. BTW...the PM you will receive takes a while for the system to generate it.
