I once learned how an effect could be applied across a cut. But I can't recall and can't find it in my notes. Any hints around?
TIA

Hi Menno,
I mean an effect applied across 2 clips whithout the cut influencing the effect: ie a fade to black over two clips
I remember it was a simple solution, but ...
I know about effects on the filler above video tracks. To keyframe a black title is a nice one. Works for me at this moment.
But still... A fellow editor learned something I mean on an Avid advanced training course in London, told me, but I can't find the note.
Oh well, I have to finish a sequence.
Tnx Menno
Hans:
To apply an effect globally across several clips, go into overwrite segment editing mode and highlight all the desired clips (2 or more). Then ALT+double click the desired "global" effect in the effect palette. You have just created a nest (submaster effect) that applies that effect to all highlighted clips. You can step into this nest to have access to the individual clips if you need to.
