Yes [Y] Avid Xpress Pro Reviews

Here are a bunch of links to the latest Avid Xpress Pro reviews.

Avid Xpress Pro’s long-awaited HDV capability is now available, and that same feature will be released for Media Composer Adrenaline later this month. When Avid designed its HDV implementation, its goal was flexibility, with the HDV workflow the same as it is for other formats, including the ability to mix resolutions on the timeline.

As computer systems become faster and cheaper, software editing systems continue their NLE market domination. Avid Technology is keeping its rivalry with Apple Computer going with Xpress Pro HD, the latest upgrade to the company’s software-based NLE system.

New DNxHD codec. Mix and match resolutions within HD and SD projects, with real-time FireWire output. Traditional Avid strengths in media management and film support. Real-time mixed resolution playback in Multicam.

Bottom line: if you’re serious about HD editing, you can’t go wrong with Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.0. It’s everything you would expect from Avid, and more.

    Re: Avid Xpress Pro Reviews

    Hey there,

I'm trying to purchase a new faster hard drive for my laptop.  What are the proper procedures for backing up my Avid Pro HD software/profiles/settings?  Also, are there any licensing/dongle issues I should be aware of when switching hard drives?

    Thanks.

    post.72,

this thread is not the one to be asking your specific question (it would generally be considered hijacking), perhaps a moderator will move your question out of this thread and into one of it's own?

As for backing up your stuff there are a couple recent topics on this which you can find by doing a Search.
