A little sailing on a fine day

We had our comodore's race today - and I got a chance to shoot a bit of video - tried a SDE (same day edit) - shot it and then presented it to the club at our cookout 1 hour later - sorta wedding videographers stuff - acutally did the same thing they do - used copyrighted music - so I won't leave it up for long - but it was a fun sail on a small lake in Colorado - 8200 feet elevation - 80 degrees today - probably 60 tomorrow....  Sailing Away

Thanks for sharing Dave.  What a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background.  Spectacular!  Nice job editing, especially with 1 hour to do it in.

Thanks again.  I enjoyed it.  Now we need Andy to do a spoof of it--return the favor.

    Nice, Dave

For a 60 minute/same day edit that was well done.

I am not a sailor, myself, but I watched it all the way through noticing your interesting cuts and framing (using the ropes, windows etc.......)

Very nice Dave. You really captured the feeling of what a typical day sail is like.

Nice shots of luffing jibs, tightening sheets, a not too elegant jibe and heeling into the wind.

I will be missing my annual sail from Long Island, NY to Maine this year to be at Liquid Immersion but will soon be editing the next Fiona video. This time, a trip around Antarctica. I will see if I can find a way to post that here. It will be an hour video.

Now that brings back some memories - Inside Looking Out  and Parody.  All Andy would need to do is ride along in the boat as a shooter filming a shooter - he could parody me easily - it's not graceful getting footage with mains and jibs shifting all over the place and jibes and come abouts and rough water.

Douglas - sheets or ropes or ports or windows - it's all the same. Thanks.

Lew - too bad about missing that trip - sounds like a nice sail - but I bet you are making a lot of people happy sharing your knowlege and skills at LI.
