"No Audio Cards" Asus P5Kc, Avid Xpress Pro (5.8)

    Hello,

I have a Asus P5Kc motherboard with onboard audio card. Everything is working on my comp, and latest drivers installed.

But when i start avid it says "Can't find any audio cards in your system. You will not be able to play audio."

Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks, Spaantje

    Hi,

Lots of people have problems with onboard sound (I'd bet your sound is Realtek or Conexant).  The easiest fix is to get a Soundblaster Audigy 2 and install that.

Depending on what version you're running, you might be able to use different drivers.  If you search the forums for "realtek" you will find a lot of information about this.

    good luck,
    Carl
