Avid DNxHD Codec End User Source Code
Welcome to the Avid DNxHD Codec End User Source Code Download Page.
The Avid DNxHD Codec allows end user software developers to extend the accessibility of Avid Media Files to any MXF-compliant (Material eXchange Format) system. The Avid DNxHD codec provides 8- and 10-bit encoding and decoding functionality for high-definition (HD) video over bit rates comparable to those of standard-definition (SD) video. Because Avid media is generated in compliance with the MXF standard, it is important that developers also have a sound understanding of code generation for MXF.
Developed as a "static" C++ library, the code compiles using a generic "make file" on Windows XP/2000, MAC OS X, Unix (FreeBSD) and Linux operating systems.
Avid does not maintain a formal support program for this code. Avid does not provide assistance in the implementation of this code beyond the information made available in the ReadMe file and in these pages. You may contact dnxhdsupport@avid.com with your questions and feedback.
