Avid Interplay Transcode

Any facility that works with more than one format can benefit from the multi-resolution intelligence of the Avid Interplay system. The Avid Interplay Transcode option automatically encodes stored material into the resolutions needed for high-res editing, laptop portability, browsing within network bandwidth limitations, project finishing, or archive. Avid Interplay Transcode tracks media so precisely that a change to an asset in one resolution is instantaneously reflected in all available resolutions of that asset.

Accelerate and synchronize your throughput
Avid Interplay Transcode generates multiple-resolution versions of a single media asset. Users work with whichever resolution is appropriate for the task, and edits are automatically reflected across all versions. The original media stays untouched and protected.

Get the right editing resolution, right away
Avid Media Composer, Symphony Nitris, NewsCutter, Avid iNEWS Instinct, and Avid Assist systems can all work with high- and low-resolution formats, and can trigger Avid Interplay Transcode when a specific resolution is required.

Eliminate duplication confusion
Avid Interplay tracks all the available resolutions simply, easily, and transparently and ensures that Avid Interplay Transcode doesnt duplicate any media already available eliminating format and resolution confusion for all connected systems.

Match resolutions to resources
An administrator can establish settings for users and applications, ensuring that, if desired, edit suites are using high-resolution media, while interns or assistants who are logging material can be assigned to low-res formats.

Reduce bandwidth drain with low-res browsing
High-resolution material, which takes up precious online storage space, can be transcoded to low-resolution proxies before being sent to long-term storage. Facilities can keep a low-resolution library of their high-resolution archives, making search and retrieval fast and accurate.

Transcode only what you need
With intelligent, selective transcoding, only the required frames in a clip - not the entire clip are transcoded to a different resolution. If part of the clip exists in the appropriate resolution already, it wont be re-transcoded.
