Each Avid Unity ISIS Engine has integrated switching. There is no requirement for an external switch - just one cable running from the storage to the client.

Benefit
Extremely simple setup and support benefits even the smallest workgroups. Also, unlike typical SANs, there is no need for a secondary network to support metadata - data and metadata are all handled on a single network connection.
