Overview
Sundance Digital FastBreak Automation NXT
Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT Automation is a comprehensive solution for managing and controlling content in the broadcast master control room. Designed for one to four channels of control, FastBreak NXT Automation integrates database management with control of video servers, tape transports, switchers, routers, and other common peripherals for complete mastery of the broadcast transmission automation process. Since its original release in 1999, FastBreak Automation has gained wide acceptance as the control software of choice for many commercial broadcast groups, and numerous Public Television stations.
FastBreak NXT builds upon this experience and combines some of the technology from Sundance Digital's large scale Titan system, including the newest version List Processors.
The basic configuration consists of an Air Station for the on-air lists, a Media Prep Station for traffic log processing and content ingest, and a SIDON device server to control peripherals. For larger systems, add a fault-tolerant SQL Data Server to protect the integrity of critical files and databases, plus a redundant ListSync Air Station with automatic fail-over to mirror the primary playlists.
FastBreak NXT Automation comes standard with SIDON Device Control - the Sundance Integrated Device Operations Network, our powerful, expandable TCP/IP-based machine control architecture. The SIDON server frame-accurately controls most broadcast hardware. Drivers are continually added to our pool of "Sundance Certified" devices, and users in good standing have unlimited access to the full library at no added cost.
Each FastBreak NXT Automation system includes a custom-written Traffic Interface. Software comes pre-installed on rack mountable enterprise-grade Windows workstations with mirrored hard drives and redundant, hot-swappable power supplies for greater reliability. FastBreak NXT is expandable and upgradeable with additional playlists and functionality upgrades, such as Intelli-Sat, News Recorder or Digital Delivery Management System. Any FastBreak NXT system can be upgraded to a Sundance Digital Titan system by adding more computers, with no sacrifice of your original investment.
