Powerful add-in hardware for Media Composer Adrenaline and NewsCutter Adrenaline
The Avid DNxcel Board is an easy-to-install board that slides into HD Expansion slot in the back of Adrenaline Avid DNA hardware. The Avid DNxcel board adds the following capabilities to Avid Media Composer Adrenaline and NewsCutter Adrenaline systems:
HD (High Definition) Input/Output
- 10-bit HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) in
- 10-bit HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) out x 2
- DVI-I Monitor out
- HD Component YPbPr Out
- HD Tri-level sync
HD Capture and Output (via Avid DNxcel board except where noted)
- Capture from and output to HDCAM family, DVCPRO HD, D5 and other popular decks
- Capture and output a variety of popular industry standard resolutions/frame rates
- 1080i at 59.94, 50 fps; 1080p at 25, 24, 23.976 fps; 720p at 59.94, 23.976 fps
- Planned for future release: 720p at 50, 29.97 fps.
- Real-time Avid DNxHD encode and decode for capture and output
- 10-bit and 8-bit support with a choice of 3 encoding settings per HD format: 10-bit plus two 8-bit settings
- Media files use open industry-standard MXF format
- Mastering-quality output (digital cut) to popular HD decks
- Real-time SD downconvert for output
- Deliver HD and SD masters simultaneously
- Note: the Avid DNxcel board is not required for Avid DNxHD playback on the system monitor and rendering and for the following HD formats, for which capture / output are via an optional IEEE-1394 card installed in PCI slot in the host computer:
- Native DVCPRO HD
- HDV (planned for release in 2005)
Real-time HD Editing
- Real-time multi-stream HD editing with real-time effects viewable on an HD monitor (or SD monitor) as well as on the system monitor
