Avid Interplay Access
- Overview and Key Features
- Technical Specifications
The Avid Interplay Access asset management client is a direct pipeline into the Interplay media database. Team members can easily search, navigate and organize assets; add or modify media objects such as master clips, sequences, and effects; work with graphics files; and store, track, and modify scripts, spreadsheets, or other project-related files and their version histories—all in their native applications.

Key Features:
Find media fast with universal access
With the Avid Interplay Access client, authorized users are able to browse the entire database structure—even across multiple networks—with a range of powerful media management features and fast drag-and-drop transfers into supported Avid editing systems.
Keep work in view with Check-Out/Check-In
Users can see when any file is checked out and know who is working on it. Once the file is checked back in, others can check out the file, view previous history, and even view and compare previous versions. Searchable comments can be added during check-out and check-in.
Eliminate guesswork with targeted search tools
Perform simple text-based or multiple-attribute searches across local and remote workgroups. Instantly locate media objects using associated attributes, for instance one search entry for name of the file, name of its source tape, or name of project to return any related file.
Organize search results by preference
The Avid Interplay Access client offers multiple views of search results with detailed information about their attributes and associated media, organized the way the user prefers.
Learn from the past, don’t repeat it
The Avid Interplay Access software displays past and current versions of file assets in its comprehensive history view, and makes it easy to review or revert to a previous version; even compare different versions of a graphic file side by side.
Roll back to any previous version
An older version of a file or folder can be retrieved and made the current version using a non-destructive process: instead of recreating steps or deleting the current version and the changes made since the rollback point, all history is preserved..
Customize your folder structures
All database content (media, files, and metadata) is organized in a folder structure that can be quickly customized according to each user’s preferences, making searches across large amounts of media fast and efficient.
Avoid costly deletions with the Object Inspector
Users can quickly see how elements or assets are related, making it easy to identify essential shots and sequences, their parent/child relationships, and where they are used, so critical material is protected from accidental deletion.
