Avid Interplay Engine

Avid Interplay Low-res Encode

Avid Interplay Low-Res Encode device enables simultaneous capture of low-and high-resolution media from multiple ingest devices and leverages the ability of Avid Interplay to automatically match and track low-resolution proxies directly to their high-resolution versions.

Key Features:

Track multiple resolutions as a single asset
All associations and metadata for each resolution are linked to the same master asset across all versions—regardless of resolution or format. Users are able to use the resolution that is appropriate for their system and task, and edits performed on one version will be the same on all versions.

Expand capacity and throughput
Network limitations often require administrators to put a cap on the number of “high-resolution” editing clients that can be working at the same time. By creating and working with lower-bandwidth versions, a facility can have more simultaneous users.

Distribute the workload evenly
Avid Media Composer, Symphony Nitris, NewsCutter editing systems and Avid iNEWS Instinct and Avid Interplay Assist logging systems can work with high- and low-resolution media simultaneously.

Organize and prioritize media capture
The flexible Avid CaptureManager system controls the capture of simultaneous high- and low-resolution recording. Captures can be scheduled, or can be done on demand (“crash recording”), and all are stored directly on an Avid Unity media network.

Get every project off to a fast start
Real-time MPEG-2 encoding of incoming material eliminates a separate transcoding step later in the process, and puts material immediately into the workflow.

Double your capacity instantly
Each encoding device supports two channels of video, expandable to four channels per encoder as your facility’s feed operations or low-res capture requirements grow.

Prevent downtime with health monitoring
Avid Interplay Low-Res Encode provides reporting to the Interplay Health Monitor application, providing administrators with at-a-glance system status information.
