Features

Gain more production capabilities

Get a more efficient workflow

Maestro | Branding (formerly 3DPlay) features an action-based controller that enables you to go beyond the typical channel branding graphics workflow—you can combine graphics, content, and animation into a button (action) and define its behavior. Once an action is created, you can trigger it multiple times using different data, giving you more flexibility to adapt to unpredictable changes.

Compatibility with major automation systems

Maestro | Branding works with all major automation systems and interfaces, including Imagine ADC 100 and D-Series, Snell Morpheus, Evertz, Pebble Beach, and other systems. And because Maestro | Branding can be used with a single channel or multiple playout channels through a single user interface, it’s an efficient, frame-accurate, and scalable solution for even the most demanding broadcast environments.

Get validation

Maestro | Branding offers unique validation capabilities that are initiated by the automation system. Once a playlist is loaded, automation enquires with Maestro | Branding system regarding the status of each individual event. Maestro | Branding then verifies that all relevant graphic elements are available—including textures, clips, and text. If an element is missing, you’ll receive prompt notification, giving you enough time to retrieve it.

Automate your workflow

Maestro | Branding can be used in several operational modes, including automation systems using CII, VDCP, and USC protocols. When configured to work with automation, the events are triggered and their statuses are reported back to automation. This enables you to deliver graphics faster, without adding additional costs.

Traffic system interface

Maestro | Branding features a traffic system interface that gives you better insight into your graphics traffic and scheduling. With the sophisticated browser module, you can access your Maestro | Branding actions, ingest data, preview graphics locally, and confirm the graphics and content within the traffic application.

Once everything looks good, simply generate a graphic event and it will be added to the traffic playlist automatically. This process saves valuable time, since the graphics can be previewed and approved just once. And when you integrate the Maestro | Branding browser’s ActiveX into any scheduling/traffic system, it exchanges data with the host application, minimizing the data that will need to be manually inserted.

Create more engaging content

Enable logic-based graphics
With its logic-based graphics, Maestro | Branding offers if/then/while conditions and calculate the results automatically. This is particularly useful for graphics that depend on a time or date. For example, before a show’s “coming up next…” graphics are triggered, the show’s data can be automatically pulled from traffic/automation and combined with graphics. This ensures that the most up-to-date graphics and information are used.
Mix embedded audio

Maestro | Branding enables you to control and manipulate up to eight stereo embedded audio channels, which you can mix with additional inputs and audio clips into a single output. Maestro | Branding also gives you full control over the volume level, crossfading, and other embedded audio mixing features.

Create rich video clip content

Maestro | Branding supports all commonly used file formats, including MXF, AVI, and QuickTime (with or without an alpha channel), in a wide variety of codecs. In addition to clip playback, you can work with live video inputs too. Depending on your hardware configuration, you can integrate from two to eight HD/SD inputs.

Manage your media more efficiently

Take control of permissions and metadata

With built-in user rights management, you can ensure that each user only operates Maestro | Branding according to his or her user profile and rights. You can control what settings, menus, and read/write permissions users can access. In addition, all Maestro | Branding assets include standard metadata fields, such as the owner’s name and date of creation. You can also generate your own custom metadata fields, enabling you to add such info as comments, descriptions, and categories to make media sorting and search faster and more efficient.

Archive content easily

With Maestro | Branding, you can collect and archive all related data—including images and clips—from where it originated and extract it to the playout center, along with its environment and path. This is particularly useful when creation and playout are in different sites or networks.

Pull info from multiple databases

In addition to manually ingesting data, Maestro | Branding can automatically pull data from a database and populate info into a graphics template in real-time. It can simultaneously query multiple data sources, supporting all common databases such as SQL, XML, TXT, RSS feeds, and many more.

Get proven system reliability

Maestro | Branding is powered by Avid’s proven video rendering platform, which provides maximum performance and reliability. It runs on a reliable Linux operating system and offers system redundancy, including hot swappable dual power supplies, mechanical and software bypass, and RAID-based system disks.
