Unprecedented resolution and capabilities

Unrivaled video wall capabilities

The HDVG4 graphics platform provides unrivaled capabilities to the video wall environment. A single HDVG4 can output 8 genlocked 3G or 16 HD SDI signals that can be tiled across the video wall according to the size and shape required. Multiple output options allow the HDVG4 to closely match the resolution and aspect ratio of the video wall. Supported resolutions range from 3840x1080 in the 2x1 setup, 7680x2160 in the 4x2 setup, and a staggering 15360x2160 in the 8x2 arrangement—all from a single HDVG4. This high resolution gives you the ability to zoom in on the video wall without the content becoming pixelated.

Synchronized on-screen elements

By running from a single HDVG4, all on-screen elements (tickers, videos, animated items, etc), remain synchronized across the whole of the video wall, with no tearing visible on any sections of the output.

Live video insertions

The HDVG4 platform can accept up to 16 HD or SD live video insertions—as well as video clips in most industry accepted formats—which can mapped to different graphical elements on the video wall. All of these video elements become an integral part of the templates and are not overlaid as ‘picture-in-picture’ objects.

No design compromises

Graphic creation

PowerWall’s graphics content is created using 3Designer, Avid’s graphic creation package. 3Designer helps you create templates for any type of broadcast, including news, special election broadcasts, sportscasting, weather segments, business reports, and more.

While working in 3Designer, the entire video wall is treated as a single scene, so full-screen graphics will be created without tearing where video wall tiles meet. Guides and markers can be placed on the template, enabling the display and align elements to be subdivided precisely.

Templates

PowerWall's templates contain both graphics and animations. Different scene elements can be dynamically updated and controlled during production. Each layer can also be mapped as a texture on the surface of another object, opening the way for stunning new types of animations and effects that are normally only possible in post-production.

Decorated texts

3Designer also offers state-of-the-art 3D and decorated text capabilities. A unique algorithm ensures maximum text quality at all sizes, avoiding text blurriness or pixelation. Additionally, 3Designer fully supports Unicode and multiple regional language environments, multi-line and multi-style texts, shrink-to-fit, alignment and kerning adjustment.

Advanced photorealism

To enhance the level of photorealism, 3Designer is also fully equipped with texture and layer blending modes, and shaders such as bump mapping, displacement mapping ,and other video effects. 3Designer also provides an API which allows programmers to write their own shaders and implement them using 3Designer.

Seamless workflow

Different controller options

Taking graphics to air is straightforward—Avid provides different control options to suit your production style. You can control content via TD Control, 3DPlay or Maestro, all of which are used extensively in top broadcast environments.

Easy integration

If Avid is already part of your production workflow, then it's easy to add a video wall—you just need to add an HDVG4 system. You can utilize existing content with minimal changes, and control from 3DPlay, Maestro, or TD Control.

Database connections

Each scene can encapsulate an unlimited number of data connections. Thanks to drag-and-drop connections to the database, no scripting knowledge is required. A set of query tools allows operators to sort and manipulate the data automatically, greatly streamlining and enhancing the production workflow.

Convenient Control

The web-based PowerWall Configurator allows users to easily adjust the properties of the video signal without accessing the engineering controls on the video wall. Every HDVG4 comes with the configurator preinstalled, allowing access from any workstation with a regular web browser.

Interaction with the video wall setup is done live, so all changes in the layout are visible immediately. You can adjust the size, position, edges and color correct the whole wall or individual signals from the web browser.
