Avid Xpress Pro Version 5.8
This release includes additional codec support, enhancements, issue resolutions, and quality improvements, over version 5.7.7.
For Registered Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 Users
All registered users of Avid Xpress Pro version 5.7 or higher automatically qualify for the version 5.8 software. This update, available via download, includes the v5.8 application for Windows XP or Mac OS X, README files and installation instructions.
After installing one of the Avid Xpress Pro updates, you may also want to download and install the items found in the corresponding goodies.zip file. The goodies download includes plug-ins for use in Avid Xpress Pro plus demos of third-party software that will allow you to get more out of your editing system.
IMPORTANT NOTE - For v.5.7 only: This release is for registered customers of Avid Xpress Pro v5.7 or higher. If you are running an earlier release, you will need to upgrade your software through a chargeable upgrade.
IMPORTANT NOTE- Avid Unity ISIS: We strongly recommend that Avid Unity ISIS customers only upgrade their Avid editing systems after they have installed the Avid Unity ISIS v1.4 upgrade. This upgrade is available free of charge for customers with a valid Support contract from the Support Contract Section of the Avid Download Center.
Mac Goodies Folder Contents
Please Note: The Goodies Folder content has been reduced. Older items from past Goodies Folders will not work on Avid Xpress Pro 5.8 editing systems.
OS Compatibility
Avid Xpress Pro v5.8 now supports Mac OSX v.10.4.11. Mac OSX Leopard and Microsoft Vista support is planned for a future release.
Avid Unity Support
Avid Xpress Pro v5.8 has support for Avid Unity ISIS 1.4. Avid Xpress Pro v5.8 is also supported in Avid Unity MediaNetwork v4.1.5, v4.2.1, v4.2.3 and 5.0, and Avid Unity ISIS v1.2 v1.3 and v1.3a environments.
