What’s New in Avid PostDeko?
Avid PostDeko 8.0.1 allows users more creative control from their offline software without tying up the online system – enabling more offline capabilities and streamlining production.
Bundled Options and Enhanced Offline Creativity
- Motion Design and Make DekoMovie: Sold previously as separate options, PostDeko now includes Motion Design and Make DekoMovie as standard features, providing a critical flexibility for graphic and Motion creation from your offline software and eliminating the bottleneck to your online Deko system. Motion Design enables full 2D and 3D animation capabilities found in the advanced Deko 3000 system. Make DekoMovie allows Deko-signature effects to be rendered and shared with other devices and applications including Avid and other editors.
- Support for ClipDeko: The powerful ClipDeko option is now integrated with offline PostDeko software enabling a ton of flexibility in graphics production. This gives users access to clip assignments for graphics from a more flexible offline environment. And the new Clip Viewer tool allows clips to be previewed right from the users desktop without requiring the Deko hardware.
As always, Clips can be scrubbed, trimmed, looped and synched with your Motion effects.

Deko v5.0 Compatibility
PostDeko supports many of the newest Deko 5.0 features, adding a wealth of animation capabilities to offline graphics production.
- PowerClips: Create stunning video effects like multiple, moving headshots and animating treatments like traveling flares. PowerClips are integrated clip effects for smaller size video playback and are available in HD and SD for Deko 3000 systems with the ClipDeko option.
- Motion-in-Motion: Global-style Motion effects for 3000 and 1000 models that “add on” to standard Motion actions. For example, animate your text layers with real time, content independent glows and blurs, then animate the entire graphic with scale and rotation effects for a “breathing” treatment. Sky’s the limit!
- Auto-Motion: is a type of animation logic that enables a more “automatic” way of animating Deko graphics back to back. Users predefine likely transitions and create “Graphic Classes” for each. Every graphic in a “Class” can be played back in near random fashion with the proper transition applied automatically and without user intervention – saving tons of time and effort in the process. Great for live news, sports and elections!
- Z-Depth Animation: Allows greater Motion playback in true 3D space with additional Z position toolset from existing Motion editor.
- Texture Shadows: New Deko shader treatments that can be added dynamically to an image texture, and more commonly to a static headshot. You can control color, distance, direction, blur and opacity.
Graphics Workflow Integration
- DNxHD: Now supports alpha! PostDeko movies can now be saved with the new DNxHD codec to allow for “fast import” to Avid Editors!
