MC 239 Basic Color Correction with Avid Media Composer

Overview:

This course explains the fundamental techniques for color correcting shots or enhancing the look of a program on Avid Media Composer and will prepare you to work effectively with a colorist. Lessons are divided between demonstration and hands-on practice.

Producers, editors, assistant editors, multimedia producers.

Outline:

  • Analyzing footage
  • Using the Avid internal video scopes
  • Color correcting each shot in a sequence
  • Making sure color and luminance are within safe broadcast limits
  • Creating a treatment for an entire sequence

Prerequisites:

MC 101 Introduction to Avid Media Composer or equivalent experience. The MC 205 Effects Tools and Techniques for Avid Media Composer course is also strongly recommended.
