Groovy Music on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

When the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus visits schools across the U.S., students come aboard to create their own music and are then able to record and take a CD of their finished masterpiece away with them. Sibelius is there to support their creative songwriting process as the bus crew conducts and records the educational performance sessions that take place.

If you read the January Gracenotes e-blast, you’ll remember the announcement of our new association with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. As we mentioned in our earlier e-blast, the bus is a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio that provides music and video education programs for young people. It is an offshoot of the nine-year-old John Lennon Songwriting Contest, dedicated to providing opportunities for both professional and amateur songwriters around the world. The bus travels across America year-round, providing visitors with free, hands-on experiences using the latest audio and video technology, gear and products. The John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Educational Tour Bus, a 501(c)(3) venture, is made possible by an agreement with Yoko Ono Lennon. While most schools are closed during the summer, the bus will keep on rolling in support of the Black Eyed Peas summer tour, which begins at Music Midtown held in Atlanta June 10-11.
