Gen Cre8: Make Something was a resounding success. Morningwood put on an amazing show for Gen Cre8 members at Public Assembly in Brooklyn amidst jaw-dropping demonstrations of new movie-making and songwriting tools available to anyone, anywhere.
From the press to the public, everyone in the cool, underground club connected to the artists and the message: the tools are there, and it's time to create again.

Gen Cre8: Echo Park
Avid travels in November to Echo Park in Los Angeles, another hot zone creative uprising to visit Bedrock Studios, a brand new complex designed to give bands a pad for launching tours – and launching careers. From there, we’ll move to Echoplex, well known as the home of the secret show, for a fan show of our own – The Crystal Method. Throughout the day are amazing Pro Tools and Torq product demonstrations, helping you cross the short bridge from ‘wannabe’ to ‘is’.
1:00-5:00pm: College Battle of the Bands, Bedrock Studios
After competing online, top LA student bands compete for the regional championship in the College Battle of the Bands. Among other prizes, the winner will have the opportunity to open that night for special guest The Crystal Method at Echoplex. Submit your entry at: http://www.collegebattleofthebands.com/.
5:00pm-8:00pm: The Crystal Method at Echoplex
Following opening acts from The Chose in Few and the winner of the College Battle of the Bands, platinum artist The Crystal Method will turn Echoplex into an electronic dance dream sequence.
Grammy-nominated duo Crystal Method is one of the best-selling electronic acts in the U.S. Their bristling brand of electronica stems from a love of rock, hip-hop, electronic and soul. Formed in 1993 by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland The Crystal Method helped re-establish America's place on the dance music map with the acclaimed 1994 City of Angels single "Now Is the Time," which married samples and sound bites with pulsing breakbeats and electronically generated hooks.
Their latest album, Divided by Night, (2009) has been called a masterpiece.
