Pro Tools Support for Hardware Control Surfaces

Thanks for your interest in having your hardware control surface work with Pro Tools!

The HUI MIDI Mapping Protocol provides an interface between Pro Tools and MIDI-base hardware control surfaces, allowing Pro Tools to exchange signals with the control surfcace that synchronize the states of contollers, displays and plug-in information. Many companies have used this protocol successfully to incorporate Pro Tools support into their controllers. This documentation, originally designed for the Mackie HUI control surface, is owned by Loud Technologies, Inc.. Interested parties should contact the company if they are interested in obtaining a license to use this protocol.
