Overview

The Avid Educator's Workshop for Media Composer is designed specifically for academic instructors. Based on the two courses, Media Composer Fundamentals I and Media Composer Fundamentals II, this course will educate attendees in the core skills, workflows, and concepts involved in professional nonlinear editing on Avid Media Composer systems. In addition, attendees will be exposed to the design and use of the Avid Certified User curriculum materials, and participate in discussions relating to teaching Avid Media Composer in the classroom.

At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to take the certification exam to earn the credential of Avid Certified Instructor: Media Composer User.

This certification entitles you to teach and certify students as an Avid Certified User: Media Composer, through an Avid Learning Partner institution.

Audience

Media educators planning to teach Avid Media Composer as part of their academic program.

Prerequisites

  • Experience with professional non-linear editing software, preferably Avid Media Composer
  • A working knowledge of Macintosh or Windows operating systems
  • A background in editing, production, or post-production is strongly recommended
