PT310I Advanced ICON Mixing Techniques

The Advanced ICON Mixing Techniques (PT310I) course focuses on advanced ICON mixing techniques in both music and post-production environments. This course provides comprehensive, hands-on ICON training, and is offered in several different training options, including through to Avid Certified Mixer: ICON Mixer level certification. To attain this certification you must complete the ICON training course and pass the practical hands-on certification exam offered at Avid Learning Partners.

Candidates wishing to take this certification exam must have firstly passed both the Avid Certified User: Pro Tools and Avid Certified Operator: Pro Tools | Worksurface certification exams.


This course is designed for end-users with intermediate control surface skills who are looking to use the ICON series of work surfaces in their production environments.

  • Configure XMON for monitoring audio
  • Navigate tracks on the console
  • Employ editing, zooming and navigation techniques
  • Understand the ICON Channel Strip

  • Assign Custom Fader groups, plugin mapping and Mix/Edit Groups using the console.
  • Work with Surround Panners
  • Be ready to sit the associated certification exam
