Avid Artist: Liza Cardinale, ACE

Liza Cardinale, ACE is a Los Angeles-based editor known for Dead to Me, Outlander, Schmigadoon!, and What We Do in the Shadows. With an emphasis on fantasy, comedy, and complex character study, her work stems from an early obsession with playing long Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.

She further honed her storytelling skills as an assistant director in musical theater and as a film studies major at U.C. Berkeley. She moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and began doing all the jobs nobody wanted as a night shift assistant editor.

Her dedication paid off and eventually she landed day shift work, only to find herself thrust back into darkness editing the final three seasons of What We Do in the Shadows for which she earned a British Film Editor award and an Emmy nomination for Single Camera Comedy Editing.
