Avid Artist: Michael Ruscio, ACE

Michael Ruscio, ACE, Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing in a Drama Series 2024 for the “Judgment Day” episode of 3-Body Problem, has enjoyed editing some of the top dramatic shows of the past twenty years, including The Sopranos, Homeland, Dexter, House of Cards, The Leftovers, In Treatment, and Six Feet Under, where he first met Rodrigo Garcia, for whom he edited the film Raymond & Ray, which premiered at TIFF ‘22. Recently, he was editor on Netflix’s Pieces of Her, Showtime’s Your Honor, Amazon’s Carnival Row, HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves for Ridley Scott, and Hulu’s Catch-22, executive produced by George Clooney.

Ruscio was nominated for an ACE Eddie Award for the finale of Six Feet Under and won the 2009 Eddie for the pilot of True Blood. He created a workshop for the American Film Institute on the art of editing which he also taught at the Los Angeles Film School. Additionally, he has directed multiple episodes of the HBO series True Blood and his short film In Order of Appearance received ensemble and individual acting awards during its festival run. He is currently editing the upcoming Amazon series Butterfly.
