    • The Breaking Bad editing team, which this season consisted of four editors– Kelley Dixon, Skip MacDonald, Chris McCaleb, and Sharidan Williams-Sotelo– received three nominations for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series.

The sound team for Sherlock, His Last Vow relied on Pro Tools® | HDX to edit and mix the series."Every Emmy-nominated drama is complex and demanding, requiring collaboration, international teamwork and flexible workflows in audio post,” said McFadden. “Sherlock is no different. Realistically, I can't imagine us being able to deliver the show to this high standard, on time and on budget, any other way than by using Pro Tools | HDX."

The music for Sherlock, His Last Vow was created using Avid Sibelius® music notation software and Pro Tools | Software.“Sibelius is essential; without it we just couldn’t create orchestral scores for film and television,” added Arnold. “There are always so many last-minute changes and Sibelius just handles everything.”

Downton Abbeywas mixed at BAFTA Award-winning audio post facility Hackenbacker, now part of the HALO Group. Since merging, HALO has upgraded all its Avid Pro Tools | Software rigs across both companies to Pro Tools | HDX.“The new Pro Tools | HDX systems are particularly important for our new mixing suites,” said John Rogerson, chief executive of the HALO Group. “The processing power makes it so quick, freeing up more time to try out creative ideas.”

The Breaking Bad editing team relied on the industry’s foremost editing solution, Avid Media Composer® | Software, to edit the hit series. “Editing Breaking Bad – where the story took quick turns through searing drama, black comedy, and thrilling action, sometimes all in the same scene – required the ability to try new things constantly to see what worked best,” said Dixon on behalf of the Breaking Bad editing team. “Avid Media Composer is so robust, dynamic and flexible, it put that freedom to experiment right at our fingertips – at practically the speed of thought! It’s an absolutely invaluable tool for us.”

In addition to their three editing nominations at this year’s Emmy Awards, Breaking Bad editors have already won an Emmy and three ACE Awards, and received five previous Emmy nominations and 11 ACE nominations.

“As a company that’s passionate about world-class content creation, we’re honored that so many of the television industry’s most talented artists rely on AvidEverywhere to bring their creative visions to life, and we congratulate them on these accolades,” said Jennifer Smith, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Avid. “Their work inspires our never-ending commitment to helping creative professionals push the limits of their vision and work in ever more powerful, efficient, and collaborative ways.”
