Martin Biehn is an acclaimed picture editor known for his work on Netflix’s three-part docuseries Escaping Twin Flames. As lead editor on E03 Up in Flames, Martin won an ACE Eddie Award and was nominated for a 2024 Primetime Emmy. He is proud to have cut several episodes of HBO’s Peabody Award-winning We’re Here, which has also been recognized with a pair of GLAAD Media Awards. Martin’s work has similarly been nominated by other prominent awards bodies including the Independent Spirit Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, and the IDA Documentary Awards.
Born in West Virginia and raised in eastern North Carolina, Martin’s love of montage and storytelling dates back to the gas-station comic books he would read on those long childhood road trips to his grandparents’ house. He began his professional career as a recording assistant, additionally working in foley, sound design, and sound mixing, before transitioning into a career in picture editing.
He now lives in Los Angeles with his spouse and children. In his free time, Martin enjoys cooking, fishing, and making his children watch old movies.
