SurferEQ

Radically musical creative timbre shaper
For decades, synthesizers’ filters have been made to follow the pitch of a performance to maintain the timbre of the instrument. Frequency selections of audio equalizers, on the other hand, have always remained static. While this has made these tools effective for wide-range tone shaping and correction of resonances, which are tied to the tracking room’s dimensions, their de-correlation from the harmonic structure of the source signal has caused an inability to accurately maintain the overall timbre of the processed instrument. SurferEQ utilizes a proprietary pitch-tracking algorithm to identify the fundamental frequency of a source signal and track its movement across the frequency spectrum as different notes are played. SurferEQ is then able to smoothly shift its processing bands at fixed intervals, relative to the sliding fundamental, in real-time.
