Avid VENUE | Software Upgrades FAQ

Mix faster, go bigger, and get the latest features and improvements when you upgrade your VENUE system to VENUE 3 software. The VENUE 3 Software Upgrade Kit is now available through the online Avid store as software installers on discs or download.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Q. Which versions of VENUE software can I upgrade to VENUE 3 software?

A. You can upgrade any previous version of VENUE software (formerly known as "D-Show software") to version 3.

Q. How do I determine which version of VENUE software I have?

A. The software version is displayed in the lower-right corner of the Options > System page. The first three digits represent the version number; the last digit is the build number. For example, "" is version 2.0.0, build 151.

Q. How do I get the VENUE 3 software upgrade?

A. VENUE software upgrades are available through the online Avid store. To purchase an upgrade, you must prove that you own a VENUE system running an earlier version of software. To do this, make sure that you've registered your VENUE system components with Avid and you’re set.

Q. If I have more than one VENUE system, can I purchase more than one VENUE software upgrade?

A. Yes, but each system must be registered individually. There is a limit of one upgrade kit per registered FOH Rack, Mix Rack, or VENUE SC48, whichever one is used in your system.

Q. Can I download the VENUE 3 software upgrade?

A. Yes. VENUE 3 software is now available either as a download or in a box of disc installers through the online Avid store. In addition, anyone can download the latest VENUE Standalone software from the Avid Knowledge Base. This free version of VENUE software doesn't require a VENUE system to use, enabling you to create and edit show files offline using any computer running Windows XP (including Macs running Boot Camp or emulation software).
