Louis Hernandez, Jr.

Louis Hernandez, Jr., is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avid, the leading provider of audio and video technology used to help creative and media professionals make, distribute and monetize the most listened to, most watched and most loved digital media in the world. Headquartered in Burlington, MA with over 1,500 employees worldwide, Avid’s proven and trusted solutions have won hundreds of industry and technology awards, including two Oscars® a Grammy®, and 15 Emmys®. Built upon a 30-year heritage of innovation, and holding over 200 patents, Avid provides open, flexible, and scalable products and solutions to the world’s preeminent community of media enterprises and content creators.

Mr. Hernandez is a proven growth-oriented technology executive with expertise in operational execution and results-driven performance in a variety of complex technical fields including content management, e-commerce, workflow management and financial services. His focus and passion is to advance technology initiatives that specifically enable the active collaboration and connection between individuals, teams, and businesses. Before becoming CEO, he served for five years on Avid’s Board of Directors, including a period as lead Director. Appointed CEO in February 2013, Mr. Hernandez is now leading the company into its next phase of growth and market leadership. To that end, Mr. Hernandez oversees Avid’s strategic investments in product innovation, solutions, and services that help content creators and media organizations better connect with and inspire their audiences, both now and in the future.

Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Hernandez was the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Open Solutions Inc., a technology provider to financial institutions worldwide, which was sold in January 2013 to Fiserv, Inc for over $1 billion. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for HSBC North America Holdings, Inc., HSBC USA Inc., and ScoreBig, Inc., and is an award winning entrepreneur who has founded and advised technology organizations ranging from start-ups to large publicly traded companies. 

Mr. Hernandez is the author of two books, Saving the American Dream—Main Street’s Last Stand, and Too Small to Fail, numerous articles, and has received many professional distinctions for his expertise in business and technology. He has also been a featured guest on Fox Business, CNBC, ABC News, and Bloomberg TV, where he discusses technology, economics, strategic planning and globalization.

Through his private foundation, Mr. Hernandez actively supports children’s issues and advances in healthcare and education. Additionally, he is involved in a diverse range of community issues, including advancing the physical and emotional health of children, and promoting education in science. In particular, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation named Mr. Hernandez a Community Leader of the Year in honor of his many contributions to the community.

Jeff Rosica

As President, Jeff Rosica manages all of the company’s customer-facing activities globally including Marketing, Sales, Professional Services, Services Delivery and Customer Support.

Mr. Rosica, who joined Avid in early 2013, is a well-known industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in broadcast, media and entertainment. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the company. Mr. Rosica joined Avid from Grass Valley, LLC where he was most recently the Executive Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Mr. Rosica joined Thomson in 2001 from Philips Electronics, as part of the acquisition and merger of Grass Valley Group, Philips Broadcast and Thomson Broadcast. During his tenure at Thomson/Grass Valley, he rose to become the division head in charge of the Grass Valley division in 2008 and managed the business until its sale to Francisco Partners in late December 2010. Prior to Thomson/Grass Valley, he was with Philips Broadcast from 1996 until early 2002, serving as the Vice President and General Manager of the North American business activities. Prior to that and over his professional career, he has held a number of senior positions, focused largely in the areas of general management, business development, marketing and sales..

Brian E. Agle

As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Brian Agle oversees the global finance and accounting organization, as well as the corporate development and investor relations functions.

Mr. Agle is a seasoned, operationally oriented financial executive with more than 25 years of experience in the technology and software sectors, including leadership roles in accounting, legal, tax, treasury, mergers and acquisitions, transition management, financial planning and business model restructuring.

Before joining Avid in 2016, Mr. Agle served as an Operating Advisor at Francisco Partners, a leading global private equity firm focused on technology, and was responsible for leading the finance and accounting best practices across the firm’s more than 30 portfolio companies. Prior to joining Francisco Partners, he served as CFO at Rocket Software, an enterprise-software development company, where during his tenure he directed the successful acquisition and integration of several companies and asset purchases. Before joining Rocket Software, he was Senior Vice President and CFO for Activant Solutions, a business management software company. Previous to that role, Mr. Agle spent 14 years at Novell Inc. where he operated in several financial leadership roles including Vice President, CFO of Global Field Operations with financial responsibility for the $1 billion business.

Mr. Agle began his career with Ernst & Young and is a licensed CPA (inactive) in California. He holds both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s of accountancy from Brigham Young University.

Rashid Desai

As Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Avid, Rashid Desai is responsible for developing and enhancing our comprehensive platform enabling deeper collaboration across the marketplace. He oversees all of Avid’s technology teams, including software engineering, hardware engineering, and information and technology.

As an international technology leader with over 20 years of experience, Mr. Desai is a passionate technologist who has an extensive background in developing commercial technology products and solutions. His background includes strengthening technology infrastructure, technology architecture, platform engineering, security, cloud engineering and deployment, DevOps and continuous delivery, marketplace and AppStore development, and enterprise content management.

Mr. Desai was most recently the Managing Director and Chief Information and Technology Officer of Barclaycard, a global payment company that creates customized, co-branded credit card programs for travel, entertainment, retail, affinity and financial institutions. He was responsible for the company’s U.S. technology strategy and capabilities, and successfully managed a multi-year transformation of the business, with an emphasis on continuous delivery leveraging secure cloud-based technologies using agile development and lean operations. While at Barclaycard, Mr. Desai also led the engineering of a platform for real-time collaboration across applications and users. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Open Solutions, which was acquired in January 2013 by Fiserv, Inc. He oversaw worldwide product research and development and led the company’s extensible platform and AppStore engineering strategy. Before joining Open Solutions, he was the Senior Vice President at Equifax and effectively led the product and platforms development for business and consumers.

Mr. Desai is also a board member at Zip Code Wilmington, Delaware’s first coding school, preparing the next generation of software development professionals.

Jason Duva

As General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Mr. Duva is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs, strategic initiatives, and risk management.

Mr. Duva joined Avid in 2005 and served in several roles before becoming General Counsel. Prior to joining Avid, Mr. Duva worked at the Boston firm Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, where he represented numerous hardware, software, and entertainment companies, along with individual artists and arts organizations.

Mr. Duva holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University. Mr. Duva has been a Pro Tools enthusiast since its first release, having discovered it while studying at the university’s McColl Studios for Electronic Music.

Dana Ruzicka

As Vice President and Chief Product Officer, Dana Ruzicka oversees product management, segment and product marketing, and program management for the company.

Mr. Ruzicka has a rich history with Avid and more than 20 years of extensive product management, business development, and marketing experience in the media industry. During his tenure with the company, he’s served a wide range of customers from consumer audio recording and video editing, to professional post production and broadcast.

Mr. Ruzicka most recently managed our Tier 3 growth initiative, focused on broadening Avid’s brand presence in the creative artist space. Prior to that, he was vice president of Segment Strategy and Planning at Avid, where he oversaw marketing operations and planning for our key business segments—Broadcast and Media, Pro Audio and Pro Video. Mr. Ruzicka has also served in additional senior leadership roles at Avid, including vice president of Post Solutions, where he played a key role in developing and launching Avid’s ISIS shared storage platform; and vice president of Strategic Alliances, where he grew Avid’s partnership program ecosystem to more than 600 connectivity partners.

Mr. Ruzicka holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree, with an emphasis in Sound Recording Technology, from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Tom J. A. Cordiner

As Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Tom Cordiner oversees all commercial activities for the company including managing the sales and pre-sales teams located around the world.

Mr. Cordiner, who joined Avid in 2012, is an experienced international technology sales executive with extensive background in broadcast, media and telecom. He was most recently Vice President of Sales, EMEA, where he was responsible for leading Avid's EMEA organization and driving growth across its major markets through a combination of direct and channel sales. Before joining Avid, Mr. Cordiner served at Technicolor where he held the role of Vice President of Sales and Business Development, running the international sales teams in the broadcasting, media and telecoms sectors. Prior to Technicolor, Mr. Cordiner spent four years at Cable and Wireless, where he was in charge of restructuring the channel reseller businesses and was also responsible for the mobile telecoms operator segment, leading the global relationships with Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, and EE as client managing director. He previously held senior international sales management positions at EMC and St Ives plc.

Mr. Cordiner speaks fluent German, and holds a Master of Arts from St. Andrews University and an Executive Management qualification from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Peter Ennis

As Senior Vice President, Global Services, Delivery and Customer Support, Peter Ennis is responsible for managing the company’s professional services, services delivery, customer care, and training and education activities worldwide.

Mr. Ennis has over 20 years of senior executive experience in the broadcast and media industry, with strong knowledge and skills in managing large technical and operational teams in highly complex, technical environments.

Mr. Ennis was most recently responsible for leading Avid’s APAC business as Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific region. Before working for Avid in 2014, he was Executive Director of Technology and Broadcasting at Al Jazeera Media Network in Qatar. Prior to that, he served as General Manager of Technology at Television New Zealand (TVNZ) and Director of Operations, Technology and Digital at TV3 Group in Ireland, where he served on the main board.

Mr. Ennis also serves as a non-executive director of Kordia Ltd, a New Zealand state-owned telecommunications company.

Mr. Ennis holds a Masters in Business Administration from The Open University Business School and is an Electronic Engineering graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology.
