What’s New:
Timesaving PhraseFind™ Transcript Tool
Earlier this year, we added the power of AI to Media Composer’s popular PhraseFind toolset using Avid Ada. Now we’ve included automated transcription of source clips that track while media is played, enabling editors to instantly find a clip by simply inputting specific words and phrases even when searching through an entire massive media library and in multiple languages. Editors repeatedly tell us how much time they save thanks to PhraseFind’s ability to help them “find their story” faster. In this new release, that search gets a turbocharged boost with our new Transcript Tool included with PhraseFind. Imagine having a full transcription of all dialogue within a clip at your fingertips, allowing you to perform basic edits straight from the transcript to the timeline. Simply select the text in the Transcript Tool, drag it into your sequence, and watch your story come to life at lightning speed.
"Using the new Transcript Tool in PhraseFind™ to quickly locate and then highlight the sound bites I need is going to move the first assembly process along so much faster in Media Composer,” comments Benjamin Hershleder, Editor (The Bronx Boys) and Avid Certified Instructor.
Even Better Media Composer and Pro Tools Integration
Now, in both Media Composer and Pro Tools, post-production professionals finally have the kind of interoperability between the two industry leading toolsets they’ve dreamed of. No more exporting an AAF file or tedious round trip importing. Now, with sub-frame automation for both volume and pan, Media Composer matches the precision of Pro Tools. Additionally, Pro Tools can export session files tailored for Media Composer, retaining crucial edit and mix metadata.
This seamless integration means fewer back-and-forth adjustments, saving time and preserving the creative decisions made in either application. You get a fluid, faster editing and mixing experience like never before with more time to focus on the creative process.
Editors who use Media Composer rave about this integration.
“Full round tripping from Media Composer to Pro Tools. This is what we’ve been waiting for,” says Dan Lebental, ACE (Iron Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming).
“One of the best things that Media Composer offers is that it lets you work with multiple systems,” says Kelly Dixon, ACE (Obi-Wan Kenobi). “I love being able to work very fast and just do the things I need to do and not have to worry.”
"The time that we're saving in the workflow, moving from offline to Pro Tools, is significant,” says Zach Willis, Co-Founder, Ka-Boom Postproduction. “We're saving hours per episode. The combined time saved in exporting and having all the markers in place is immense."
Avid Huddle for all Media Composer Versions
Avid Huddle introduces a significant change in how TV shows, movies, commercials, and other content undergo review and approval. The new SaaS solution enables creative teams to collaborate more efficiently and securely from anywhere on any device using tools they already know. Here’s how it works: Editors stream Media Composer timeline content to one or more collaborators by launching a Microsoft Teams session directly in Media Composer or Avid | Edit On Demand. Contributors review edits in real time during a video meeting, add time-stamped annotations and comments which can be exported, and discuss their feedback while viewing the content together. The text comments are then brought back into Media Composer as markers to facilitate the editing process. In other words, Avid Huddle remotely recreates the in-person team editing experience, like you’re in the same room together.
Whether you're an independent editor or part of a team, Media Composer’s latest update ensures you have the best tools at your disposal to create, collaborate, and elevate your film and video projects. You’ll also experience greater efficiency and time saved that can be used in other ways. That’s true value.
