Avid Learning at IBC2026: Continuing the ReCert Summit Tradition
IBC2026 was an exciting week for Avid Learning, our Avid Learning Partners, and the ACSR community.
For the first time, we hosted an ACSR ReCertification Summit at IBC in Amsterdam, expanding a tradition that we brought back earlier this year at NAB in Las Vegas. After seeing the response from the ACSR community at NAB, we knew we wanted to continue creating opportunities for our technical community to come together, reconnect, learn from one another, and stay current with Avid technology.
Bringing the ReCert Summit to IBC gave us an opportunity to extend that experience to our European community and continue building something we hope becomes a regular part of our major industry events.
The ReCert Summits are about more than maintaining a certification. They’re about bringing together the people who deploy, support, teach, and troubleshoot Avid systems every day. Some of the most valuable learning happens when those experts are in the same room, comparing workflows, sharing experiences, and talking directly about how the industry is changing.
A Big IBC for Avid Learning Partners
IBC was also a great show for our Avid Learning Partner community, with a number of new Avid technologies that will have a direct impact on students, educators, and the way we teach the next generation of media professionals.
Two of the announcements we're particularly excited about are Avid Assist and the Avid Gemini Panel.
Avid Assist represents an exciting direction for AI within professional media workflows. Rather than replacing the creative decisions that editors and other media professionals make, we're especially interested in how these technologies can help with the repetitive and organizational work surrounding the creative process.
For educators, that creates an entirely new conversation. Students entering the industry need to understand not only how to use today's tools, but also how AI-assisted workflows are changing the way professional teams organize, prepare, manage, and ultimately create content.
The Avid Gemini Panel is equally exciting, bringing new workflow possibilities that students can begin learning before they ever walk into their first professional facility.
And importantly for our Avid Learning Partners, both Avid Assist and the Avid Gemini Panel are part of the ALP package, giving participating schools an opportunity to introduce students and instructors to these technologies as they become part of modern Avid workflows.
Bringing the Industry Back Into the Classroom
That's ultimately what the Avid Learning Partner program is supposed to accomplish.
The technology being used by the industry shouldn't take years to find its way into the classroom. As Avid introduces new workflows and capabilities, we want our educators to have opportunities to explore them, understand them, and begin thinking about how they fit into their curriculum.
IBC gave us a glimpse of just how quickly those workflows are evolving.
It also reinforced why communities like our ALPs, ACIs, and ACSRs matter so much. Courseware and certification are important, but learning doesn't stop with a book or an exam. It comes from connecting educators, engineers, working professionals, technology partners, and students around the tools and workflows shaping the industry.
Our first IBC ACSR ReCertification Summit was another step in that direction. We started the new ReCert Summit tradition at NAB. We're thrilled to have now brought it to IBC, and we're even more excited about where we can take it next.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Amsterdam, and to the Avid Learning Partners, instructors, ACSRs, educators, and industry professionals who continue to help us build the next chapter of Avid Learning.
