These new features introduce achievement levels, digital badges, learner activities, and leaderboards that encourage participation, recognize accomplishments, and support long-term learner engagement.

A more interactive learning experience
The new gamification framework includes four core components:
Levels
Learners progress through five achievement levels based on participation, learning activity, and earned points. These levels are designed to recognize ongoing investment in learning and professional growth.
Badges
Digital badges visually recognize:

- Certification achievements

Activities
Learners can earn points through actions such as:
- Starting or resuming courses
- Enrolling in training through the catalog

Leaderboards and widgets
Leaderboards and portal widgets provide organizations with an engaging way to celebrate achievements, encourage friendly competition, and highlight learning engagement across classrooms, enterprise teams, and training communities.
For dedicated Avid Learning Central portals, leaderboards will remain anonymous by default unless an organization requests otherwise. When enabled, learner names will only be visible within that dedicated portal.
Flexible and customizable
Organizations can define their own point values, badge structures, and learner progression models to align with internal training objectives and educational strategies.
For example:
- 200 points to achieve Level 2
- 400 points to achieve Level 3
- 600 points to achieve Level 4
- 800 points to achieve Level 5
Points can be awarded through course completion, certifications, learning paths, resource downloads, and other learner activities to support long-term engagement goals.

No. Gamification badges are designed to complement official Avid Certifications and Credly credentials, not replace them. Certification exams and certification requirements remain unchanged.
