Keeping Avid Learning Central Organized: Course Indexing and Archival Initiative

At Avid Learning, we're continually looking for ways to improve the learner experience and make it easier for students, instructors, engineers, and training partners to find the right learning content at the right time.
Beginning in June 2026, Avid Learning has begun a course indexing and archival initiative across Avid Learning Central designed to simplify course discovery, reduce confusion, and ensure learners are accessing the most current and relevant training materials available.
Why We're Making This Change
Over the years, Avid Learning Central has accumulated multiple versions of courses, certifications, and learning resources as products have evolved and new courseware has been released. While maintaining historical content has value, having multiple versions of the same course visible to learners can sometimes create uncertainty about which class should be taken for certification or professional development.
Our goal is simple:
- Make it easier to find the correct course
- Reduce confusion around certification pathways
- Improve search and course discovery
- Create a cleaner learning environment
- Ensure learners are directed toward current and supported courseware
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible learning experience for the Avid community.
An Annual Process
Moving forward, course indexing and archival will become a regular part of our annual maintenance cycle. Each year, following the completion of the academic semester, the Avid Learning team will review the catalog and identify older course versions that should be archived from active listings.
By performing this review annually, we can keep Avid Learning Central organized, reduce learner confusion, and ensure certification paths remain clear and easy to navigate. At the same time, we'll continue preserving historical courseware for organizations and learners who still require access to legacy content.
Most importantly, this process will continue to evolve. We welcome feedback from learners, ACIs, ACSR engineers, schools, enterprises, and Avid Learning Partners, and we're always open to suggestions on how we can improve both the process and the overall learning experience.
What Happens to Archived Courses?
Courses designated for archival will be removed from active course listings and certification pathways. However, they will not be deleted.
Archived content will remain available within Avid Learning Central and can be restored when needed for:
- Existing customers with historical training requirements
- Organizations supporting legacy software versions
- Academic institutions using older courseware
- Specialized training programs
- Historical reference and research purposes

We understand that many organizations continue to support older software versions and workflows.

- Individual learners
- Groups of learners

Continuing to Improve the Learning Experience
This indexing effort is one of several initiatives underway to improve Avid Learning Central. Combined with recent enhancements such as Forums, Gamification, customized learning experiences, and expanded certification pathways, our focus remains on creating a modern, organized, and learner-friendly platform.
As Avid Learning Central continues to grow, maintaining a clean and clearly defined catalog becomes increasingly important. By archiving outdated content and highlighting current learning paths, we can help learners spend less time searching and more time learning.
