WHAT IS BOUNCE FACTORY?

Bounce Factory completely automates bouncing deliverables: mixes, stems, whatever you need. If it can be bounced in Pro Tools, Bounce Factory can automate it. Bounce Factory does this by soloing and muting tracks, switching playlists, recalling session settings including inserts, sends, I/O, automation, and any other parameter you can think of. You set up your queue using an intuitive interface based on the Pro Tools bounce dialog, or directly in the Edit Window using Bounce Factory Flow. Once you’re set, click Bounce All and let Bounce Factory take care of everything, even across multiple sessions.

BACKGROUND

Once the creative part of a job is over, it’s time to print mixes. Over the last several years, whether you’re delivering record mixes, international versions of a movie, or stems for immersive music, the scope of audio deliverables has exploded. Where you might have been asked to deliver 5 versions of a music mix, now you might need to supply 60 passes per song to meet all of the delivery requirements.

ENTER BOUNCE FACTORY

I’ve been making records for almost 40 years and have witnessed first hand the amount of work it takes to deliver a record. When we were working on tape everything was real-time, and it took as long as it took. When DAWs (and especially Pro Tools) entered the scene, I immediately had a vision of a future in which the non-creative tasks could be automated. In 2020 I was struggling to find enough time to both mix and deliver those mixes, and decided I needed to do something about it. Thus began my deep dive into coding using SoundFlow, an automation platform with deep hooks into Pro Tools.

Over the next two years I took what had started as a script for myself and turned it into a product for everybody to be able to automate one of the most soul-destroying parts of their jobs. On March 27, 2022 Bounce Factory was released!

As a professional who works in the industry, I also know the importance of data integrity and customer support. I have made those the cornerstones of how I write and support the software. Bounce Factory will never overwrite a file, you get full reports if anything has been worked around while bouncing, and customer support is almost always handled within 24 hours (and most of the time much less than that!).

Since the initial release there have been many features added, new workflows supported, and reliability increased until it has become the industry standard for delivering audio for professionals around the world. Thousands of records, music scores and other projects have been delivered using Bounce Factory. I have also made sure to keep Bounce Factory current, adding day-zero feature support for every release of Pro Tools.

BOUNCE FACTORY 2.0

With the SoundFlow-Avid integration in Pro Tools 2025.10 I saw a huge opportunity to make Bounce Factory faster and more reliable than ever. Working closely with SoundFlow and Avid, I re-worked Bounce Factory to take advantage of SoundFlow’s SFX technology. Bounce Factory 2, released simultaneously with Pro Tools 2025.10 and SoundFlow 6 in October 2025, is up to 10x the speed of the original with most of the process able to run in the background. With that speed increase came an incredible amount of stability because of the more integrated communication with Pro Tools. A re-designed UI made what was already the industry standard into something that felt wholly new.

BOUNCE FACTORY FLOW

One of the most exciting features of the SoundFlow 6 and Pro Tools 2025.10 releases was the introduction of the SoundFlow panel directly in Pro Tools. I am able to now deliver Bounce Factory’s power to users directly in the Edit Window, and in a step-by-step flow that requires no prior knowledge of Bounce Factory. Open the panel, follow the prompts, bounce your mixes!

BOUNCE FACTORY LITE

I am absolutely thrilled to now bring Bounce Factory to every single Pro Tools user. With Pro Tools 2025.12, Bounce Factory Lite is pre-installed with Pro Tools and allows everybody to get started with the app that will transform a part of their job from being dreaded into something that’s actually fun to watch! Click, click, bounce! It’s that easy.

For those that want the added power available to subscribers, there are three tiers that allow you to do everything from bouncing multiple sessions at once, changing plugin and audio settings between bounces, delivering advanced file types, including ADM and MOV files, uploading to the cloud and more!
