ChordAXE PT harnesses a powerful engine that instantly generates MIDI notes for every possible voicing of every possible chord. The plugin toggles between two views: Mesh and MIDI. The straightforward MIDI view shows two octaves of keys that map to chords for the left hand and chord expression patterns for the right hand. Chords and expression patterns are played live by ear and by feel with a velocity-sensitive MIDI keyboard, and recorded to MIDI tracks. No keyboard, no problem–click on the plugin’s virtual keys or enter key events directly with the Pro Tools MIDI editor. The next-level Mesh view is a virtual representation of the entire harmonic universe laid out in a butterflied circle of fifths with chords for all twelve roots accessed vertically by higher and lower voicings. Chord changes are traced as paths through the Mesh relative to the tonic so users can change key or voicing any time, while always playing the perfect notes. ChordAXE PT comes with dozens of trace presets capturing chord changes used by great artists in iconic songs that cross over genres and stand the test of time.
