At K-Devices, we love experimentalism, music and sounds that go beyond traditional techniques. We think of TATAT as an “(unstable) streams generator” that relies on the concept of “controlled chaos”—a unique tool that makes generative music accessible with a simplified approach to algorithmic composition. You can easily use it to add counterpoints or embellishments to your existing projects, look for inspiration for new ideas, or even control drums and create fills. It has proven to be useful for producers, composers, beatmakers, ambient musicians, and even for creating multimedia installation projects.
TATAT outputs an endless stream of MIDI notes according to the user’s settings (which we refer to as “mood”), as well as generating and exporting MIDI clips based on an infinite variations—perfect when looking for recurring phrases to easily manipulate via the timeline. Through its various parameters, you can define chance amounts for different elements that are used to guide the resulting output. Notes can be input on the fly as well by injecting any kind of MIDI source into the plugin and effectively turning it into a lunatic arpeggiator. And all parameters are fully automatable, making it possible to manipulate the stream even further.
PRO TOOLS INTEGRATION
TATAT is optimized for Pro Tools’ MIDI effect plugins support introduced in version 2024.3. Simply look for the TATAT installer in Avid Link under your Pro Tools “Included Apps & Plugins” or in your Avid Account. Once installed, insert in any Instrument Track, load any instrument in the following slot (or route the track’s output to the desired destination), press play on the transport, and you’re good to go! There’s no way to exactly define what TATAT is going to output next, but it’s possible to set very specific boundaries to guide the generation process to match your ideas.

AVAILABILITY
The TATAT plugin is available to all Pro Tools Artist, Studio, and Ultimate customers with active subscriptions and perpetual upgrade plans. You can download TATAT through Avid Link or from your Avid Account. Note that customers using Avid Link on Windows will need to install TATAT manually—the "Update Apps automatically" preference will not work.
