Avid Content Core 2026.6 – What’s new?
This Avid Content Core release focuses heavily on your daily editing, searching, and task-tracking workflows, and new self-service security and visibility tools for platform administrators. This software update removes friction from your immediate workspace while hardening background infrastructure performance.
General platform improvements
Give your eyes a break with a Light Theme workspace
You can now toggle instantly between traditional Dark Mode and a new Light Theme right inside your general user settings menu to match your local room lighting or personal screen preferences.
Central account controls
We have cleaned up your screen real estate and eliminated separate submenus by centralizing your primary identity tools under a single user avatar icon in the top left corner of the screen. Clicking this icon gives you instant access to your general settings, Admin Mode toggles, Help & Learn links, About system information, and sign-out actions.
Search App improvements
Timeline search tooltips
Stop scrubbing blindly back and forth through long master clips just to find a specific quote or shot. When you review your search results inside the player and metadata panel, the timeline highlights keyword matches in blue, while a green dot flags the absolute top match. Hovering your mouse over this green marker pops up a quick "Best Result" text tooltip so you can verify the clip on your first try.
Easier task creation
Handing off fresh footage or raw assets from your assignment desk to an editing group is now a much faster process. You can highlight a batch of up to 20 clips inside the Search app, right-click to open the context menu, and instantly spin up a new private or team task with all the selected media attached automatically as thumbnails.
Tasks App improvements
Flexible private or team tasks
Not every daily project needs to be funnelled through a rigid, multi-stage approval pipeline. The Tasks app now allows you to create simple tasks for regular, day-to-day to-dos – either as a private task for your own tracking or as a shared team task for your wider group. You can also turn an existing private task into a shared team task directly through the details panel when you are ready to collaborate, though keep in mind that changing a task's access level to public is permanent and cannot be reverted.
“Assign to me” shortcut
When you are managing your personal workload inside a task details panel, you can bypass scrolling through massive corporate user directories to assign an item to yourself. We have pinned a clean
Task duplication
If your team handles recurring operational routines, you can clone existing work items using the new "Duplicate Task" option inside the details menu. This action automatically copies all underlying properties, notes, and file attachments into a fresh task, resets the status to "Not started," and drops the duplicate directly into your active list.
Sidebar workspace favorites
You can stop rebuilding your preferred filters, asset sorting layouts, and search criteria every single shift. The sidebar layout lets you save your most frequent display configurations straight into task favorites folders. These can be kept private for your own tracking or deployed publicly by a workflow administrator to standardize views across an entire department.
Administrator and infrastructure improvements
For system administrators, we’ve introduced several new and improved controls, including:
Site registry updates
The Site Registry now exposes the Created and Last Modified dates for each of your sites and systems. The backend now permanently locks a fixed system site named "content core" for the Web Editor and Wolftech News integrations, guaranteeing that these essential communication channels can never be accidentally deleted by an administrator.
