Discover the Wolftech News Advantage at NAB 2025

Working with a non-Avid Media Asset Management (MAM) or Newsroom Computer System (NRCS)?

Want to work more efficiently and collaborate more effectively without overhauling your entire setup? Preserve your existing infrastructure with the open approach of Wolftech News, the leader in story-centric newsroom planning, production, collaboration and publishing.

This flexibility is a hallmark of Avid's approach to news solutions. Not only is Wolftech News fully integrated into MediaCentral | Cloud UX, but it’s also available as a stand-alone application, seamlessly connecting with third-party NRCS and MAM systems already in use.

“Our open approach is very important to us at Avid,” says Arne Berven, CEO, Wolftech, an Avid brand and SVP, Broadcast Strategy. “While we believe the combination of Wolftech News and MediaCentral provides the most compelling end-to-end solution, we recognize that not all of our customers will have a MediaCentral system for example, so it is critically important that we are open to integrate with any other NRCS or MAM on the market.”

Wolftech News a big draw at NAB 2025

The full range of system capabilities were showcased by the Wolftech team at the Avid booth during NAB 2025.

The integrated resource management system, including bookings for people and equipment, allied to the highly detailed messaging capabilities were of particular interest to visitors on the show floor. Visitors were keen to learn more about how a story-centric approach, enabled by Wolftech, streamlines workflows and enables teams to create high-quality stories, tailored to multiple platforms.

The flexibility of the system was illustrated through a tech preview of a new, integrated editing application directly in Wolftech News, ideal for the creation of video packages for multi-platform distribution. A workflow was demonstrated where a reporter in the field could feed live video into the Avid web editing application and begin editing their video package, linked to a story in Wolftech News.

“We want journalists and production teams to benefit from our tools regardless of what systems they have in place, so they can fully reap the benefits of story-centric news production with Wolftech News and their preferred MAM or NRCS,” Berven adds.

Crews can easily be located through a map view in Wolftech News so that resources closest to a breaking story can be deployed, social media feeds can be monitored, detailed views can be created delivering an overview of departments, shows or productions. All available through a web-based application or on mobile, through the Wolftech Go app.

“Around 98% of the functionality of Wolftech News is available on the Wolftech Go app,” Berven explains. “We know that journalists want to do more work on their phones, and we are enabling them to do so.”

From new fact checking capabilities to aid journalists to transparency checks with the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), Wolftech News offers many additional facets which go far beyond a traditional NRCS approach.

Wolftech Productions was also on show, with extended capabilities for long-form production, including project planning functionality on top of all of the existing resource management, talent and guest booking, notifications, messaging, tracking and review and approval workflows which are part of the overall solution.
