Avid Women in Tech: Building Connections, Breaking Barriers
At Avid, we’re committed to empowering women to thrive in the tech industry. We’re proud to support the next generation of innovators through our Avid Women in Tech mentorship program where we are building connections and breaking barriers through mentorship, connection, and community.
The program was implemented to foster growth, expand opportunity, and spark meaningful relationships within our global team. The response was incredible—and demand outpaced availability. Our first cohort of mentors and mentees recently completed their 12-week journey, and we’re gearing up for our second round this September. Most spots in the upcoming cohort are already filled by waitlisted applicants from the first round.
“We launched Avid’s Women in Tech mentorship program to create space for women to support one another, grow together, and expand what’s possible," shares Alessandra Melloni, Avid Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. "Representation alone isn’t enough—we believe in building the kind of connections that help women advance, lead, and thrive across every part of our industry.”
What makes our program unique is its pod model: mentees rotate among four experienced mentors, each offering distinct insights and expertise. This dynamic approach equips participants with a diverse leadership toolkit, builds lasting confidence, and opens doors to forward-thinking career paths. Focus areas span AI, ML, data science, hardware engineering, information security, and many others, empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
“Through the program, I gained a stronger foundation in AI concepts, a deeper understanding of how the company operates, and guidance on improving my personal skills, team building and general management skills,” says Anna Buzzard, UI/UX product lead for Avid’s MediaCentral platform. “It also provided valuable mentorship that helped me grow in both technical and leadership aspects.”
Now, we’re taking our commitment even further.
We’re excited to announce that Avid is an official partner of the Women in Tech Global Conference 2025 (WTGC 2025)—the world’s largest virtual-first event for women in tech and their allies.
As part of this partnership, two mentees and one mentor from our Women in Tech program will receive complimentary access to WTGC 2025, taking place May 20–22, 2025. It’s an incredible opportunity to learn from global tech leaders, explore cutting-edge innovation, and connect with a worldwide network of peers.
The Women in Tech Global Conference brings together over 100,000 participants from across the globe to share insights, elevate careers, and drive change in tech. This year’s highlights include:

- Three major summits focused on AI, leadership, and career development
- In-person networking events in cities like New York, London, and Berlin
