NEW KONTAKT LEAP EXPANSIONS TO PERFORM, LAYER, AND MANIPULATE

Avid and Native Instruments joined forces in 2024 to deliver a powerful new package for music creators and Kontakt became the core platform for creating with instruments and samples in Pro Tools. Kontakt 8 Player and a range of instrument libraries are included with Pro Tools to give users an extensive collection of high-quality sounds right out of the box.

With Pro Tools 2025.10, this partnership continues with the release of three new sound expansions powered by Kontakt 8’s Leap engine: Eventide Drums, Isorhythm, and Pummeled Piano. These new Leap expansions are free through the Inner Circle rewards program to all Pro Tools Artist, Studio, and Ultimate annual subscribers and perpetual customers with active upgrade plans.

Leap is a modern loop engine in Kontakt Player that helps you capture musical ideas as they happen, giving you a way to embrace the unpredictable and turn impromptu ideas into something extraordinary.

Combining the power of a looper with an intuitive way to manipulate and edit samples, Leap gives you creative new ways to experiment with a wide array of sounds and processing tools in real-time.

Taking this a step further, Native Instruments introduced Leap Expansions—packaged collections of loops and samples that allow users to quickly play, layer, and manipulate sounds, simplifying the process of creating musical ideas and arrangements using pre-made kits. Leap Expansions provide curated sample sets and loops to inspire users and offer a faster, more intuitive workflow for working with samples.

To give Pro Tools users even more creative tools, we designed three rhythm-based Leap Expansions. These packs offer a diverse selection of drum, percussion, and FX loops and one-shots, allowing you to seamlessly incorporate dynamic rhythms and textures into your music.

Eventide Drums provides a massive collection of drum loops and one-shots built using Eventide's H90 and H9000 FX processors.

Isorhythm provides a unique collection of loops and one-shots that combines field recordings, modular synths, drum machines, and more.

Pummeled Piano is a series of percussion loops and cinematic sound effects designed by striking a piano with brushes, sticks, and mallets.

Explore the kits in each expansion, designed to unlock your creativity by allowing you to instantly add loops and one-shots to your tracks by pressing a single key on your MIDI keyboard. Or you can craft entirely new, inspiring sounds by manipulating the samples from the Edit tab within Leap.

Eventide Drums, Isorhythm, and Pummeled Piano are available free to all Pro Tools Artist, Studio, and Ultimate customers with active annual subscriptions and perpetual upgrade plans. You can download these Leap Expansions through Avid Link or from your Avid Account under the Native Instruments tab.
